2009 - what a year!!
Is the greatest financial and economic crisis of the last 80 years finally past? Can we look forward to a relaxed Christmas and a New Year full of optimism for the future? The answer is an unequivocal Yes!
If we can believe the figures, the worst is over. We have survived the worst. The economy is picking up slowly and the order books are filling up. What better Christmas present could we wish for?
Enter into the spirit of Christmas and allow yourself to be whisked away to the "Catalogue of Possibilities" of Bayer Sheet Europe.
First we have the fascinating light composition created by the Stuttgart artist Rosalie which you can see in the Centre for Art and Media Technology in Karlsruhe. 3D landscapes are evoked using computer-controlled lights and Makrolon® multi wall sheets. The sight will take your breath away!
Makrolon® multi wall sheets are setting other futuristic signs this year on the new roof of the BayArena. The construction is unique and proves that roofs made of Makrolon® are ideal for both the smallest and the very largest roofs!
Did you know that you can build ecologically with Makrolon® sheets and save energy to help prevent climate change? No?! Then your eyes will be opened by our article on precisely this subject. The topic of "sustainability" is extremely important for the Bayer Sheet Europe Group.
Cutting down trees also requires that personal safety is given the highest priority! This means that optimum safety equipment is decisive. Read on to find out what requirements had to be complied with to equip John Deere forestry vehicles with the best windows to guarantee high safety standards for drivers.
It's no longer a dream to spend Christmas in your own conservatory. With Makrolon® multi UV 5M - "The energy saving sheet" - on your roof the heat stays in while the cold stays out. This is due to the excellent thermal insulation properties of the youngest member of the BSE multi wall sheet family.
No matter what you are planning to do, we can offer you the right sheet and the right solution to every problem.
I would like to wish you all and your families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy - and successful - New Year.

Many can't see the wood for the trees. And that is when safety is at a premium. Forestry workers process mainly large trees in their daily work and so are not just exposed to the weather but also to the considerable dangers posed by these wooden giants. Serious injuries are not infrequent. Therefore optimum safety equipment is of especial importance for forestry work. That is why John Deere, the leading global manufacturer of forestry vehicles, relies on Makrolon®.

Makrolon® multi-wall sheets reduce CO2 emissions
The innovative, highly insulating Makrolon® multi-wall sheets of the i-LINE series from Bayer Sheet Europe can achieve a considerable reduction of the carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions that are harmful to the climate. This is the conclusion based on recent figures from Europe, which allow the direct comparison of the sheets with conventional products. From 2003 to 2008, more than 14,000 metric tons of the new generation of Makrolon® multi-wall sheets have been installed in buildings, which corresponds to a roof surface of more than six million square meters. Thanks to the excellent heat-insulating effect of the i-LINE products, CO2 emissions from buildings with Makrolon® installations were reduced by a total 113,000 metric tons. More information can be found in the new brochure from Bayer MaterialScience entitled "Saving and storing energy. Environmentally friendly and efficient building with Makrolon® sheet".

Condensation can form as a result of vapour permeability of plastic materials, even in glazing elements such as Makrolon® multi UV multiwall sheets. The formation of condensation within the rib chambers depends on weather conditions and also on the corresponding installation situation. more...
